Warwick, NY —
The Nosh Around Town

Quaint country towns always deliver when it comes to good food and drink. Warwick is no exception. Known for it's annual Applefest and ample sources of fine wines and craft beers, this is an idyllic location for family and friends to indulge.

Although eating is one of my favorite past times among the quaint, rustic, historic and contemporary restaurants thriving across the community and filled every night, drinking is as well an event here.

In addition to our wineries which belong to the Shawangunk Wine Trail, there is a brewery and a new cidery built at Pennings Farm Market that offers flights of nine different flavors of the popular local spirit. To go there on a summer afternoon is one of my favorite things to do. There is live music and an outdoor beer garden every weekend in warm weather and inside, the Apple Grader Pub offers artisanal casual fare year round and a sports bar atmosphere among its rows of produce. It is a local staple for sure. Great place for kids and adults alike and the local watering hole for sure.

"This is really a town where people eat out--and the result is so many great and diverse restaurants flooding with patrons."

Local Tips

Café a la Mode is the center of casual meeting in this town. Whether a teen looking to hold court with friends, or a businessman looking to pow wow over coffee, this slightly grunge style café offers the perfect atmosphere with its industrial style farm tables and chalk board menu of breakfast items, coffee drinks, sandwiches and ice cream.

Special Features

A quick buzz down Main Street and by the neighboring “Railroad Green” will prep you to decide where you’d like to eat if you’re staying the night. There is often an outdoor festival with live music going on whether it be day or evening in this energetically social town. There is everything from wine bars to fine dining and windows open up to the street to place those indoors and out together. Try Grappa Italian Restorante. Hands down, my favorite for an upscale meal. The house wine is wonderful and they often give out their homemade anisette as gifts to visitors stopping through.
