"Make sure to wear your flannel and boots!"

The first weekend in October is usually reserved for our annual Applefest festival. It is listed in the Top 100 Things To Do in the Country. 30,000 people come to partake in the fun, with food vendors and craft booths littering the center of town, and antique yard sales welcoming attendees from all over the state and beyond. Stay in one of our historic B&B’s and call it a weekend. Make sure to wear your flannel and boots!

Local Tips

When attending Applefest, I like to come in early, before 10 am, to watch the vendors set up and preview the day’s activity and offerings. Then, when it gets to be around noon, I get out before the mayhem really starts!

Special Features

The town has many quaint locally owned bed & breakfasts, but they book up fast. Call months, or even a year, in advance if you plan to stay.
