The Norman Rockwell Town of the 21st Century

Whether you are young or old, Winchester has a very navigable downtown. There are only about 30,000 residents and the town is quite compact, so you can walk, bike or drive to the center of town. Once you're there, you can do all your errands on foot. Grab your coffee at A Fuller Cup, Bagel Land, Brueggers, Starbucks or Dunks. Then hit the post office, CVS, Stop & Shop, the Farmers Market( in the summer on the Common). Going out on the town? Get a mani/pedi/facial/new hairdo at the dozens of salons in town-- we are a well groomed bunch!

In this era of sleek chain stores and high tech consumerism, Winchester has a hip, yet Norman Rockwell vibe. In real estate lingo, it has what I call: “The One, Two Punch:” Top rated schools and easy commute to Boston. Winchester High graduates go on to an impressive array of higher learning institutions. Winchester is also very accommodating for students of every learning ability. Residents enjoy a myriad of commuter routes to head into Boston. One of my favorites is the commuter rail train. Winchester has two stations that commuters can walk to or park. Enjoy a 20 minute ride to Boston, where you can walk to the Boston Financial District or hop a train or shuttle bus to various business hub destinations including Technology Square in Cambridge. Close-by in Arlington is the Minuteman Bike Trail that can get you a scenic ride to Cambridge.

For lunch stop at D’Agastinos for Italian deli style food. Dessert at La Patisserie for, pies, cupcakes, muffins, etc. Grab a bottle of wine at Wine Country or Pairings. No need to head to the city for dinner, we have world class dining right here at the farm to table restaurant, A Tavola. Italian cuisine at Lucia Ristorante. Belly up to the bar while enjoying live music, sports and pub fare at The Black Horse Tavern.
All these amenities are within a half mile radius of the downtown area.

"...the beautiful view of the historic town hall Clock Tower (just like in Back to the Future)."

After you've helped keep the local economy afloat. Go to the beautiful stone faced Winchester Public Library and take out a book. Go out the back door and sit on the pond while you soak in the sun, birds chirping and the beautiful view of the historic town hall Clock Tower (just like in Back to the Future). You can even bring your fishing rod and stay a little longer. If you want kayaking or sailing the beautiful Mystic Lake is a short walk down the street and you can go for a swim there too! In the other direction are a cluster of meticulously maintained clay tennis courts.

So you see you can have it all in a small town like Winchester. It is a diverse community with many amenities. Steeped in tradition yet forward-thinking in supporting technology in our schools, Winchester residents eagerly support a spirit of volunteerism and community service.

"Sit on a bench and enjoy a slower pace of life until tomorrow."

People that come here see how nice it is here and want it to stay that way. They know in a hectic busy world, after a long work day you can come home, walk your dog and grab an ice cream in town while you sit on a bench and enjoy a slower pace of life until tomorrow.
