Edging its way down the Five Mile River to Long Island Sound, the seaside village of Rowayton offers a unique blend of salty but traditional appeal. Once known primarily as an oyster town, Rowayton has developed into a combination of suburb and resort village.

Officially known as the Sixth Taxing District of Norwalk, local residents dwell in 1.28 square miles. “Rowayton-ites” walk almost everywhere - For exercise and errands and always exchange friendly greetings along the way.

The active downtown on Rowayton Avenue offers most of life’s necessities: Rowayton Market, Rowayton Hardware, several fine restaurants , a Post Office, volunteer fire department, an Arts Center and of course Brendan's 101 deli and ice cream.

Perhaps the Village’s greatest treasure is Pinkney Park with its spacious grounds bordering the Five Mile River. It’s here where the Village holds events such as the River Ramble, Shakespeare on the Sound, Arts Festival, & Summer Farmer’s Market.
