Halloween is another day of celebration on Main Street. Privately owned historic homes bring out the candy, pumpkins and ghouls as over 2,000 children go door-to-door for tricks and treats!
The holiday season is rung in with the annual Tree Lighting. Luminaries line Main Street and surround historic Ram Pasture, a magical scene reflected in Hawley Pond. Santa and Mrs. Claus arrive in style accompanied by the Newtown High School Chorus and Band. On the count of ten, all is quiet as the lights are lit on the Town Tree!

The arts are alive and well in Newtown. Whether you’re interested in music, theatre, movies, sculpture or painting, Newtown is the place to be. The choices are endless!
