Stratford, CT —
Stratford’s best-kept secret!

Everyday when I drive home from work through the breathtaking views of the Long Island Sound and the marsh, I can imagine I’m going home to my little, private island. That’s the feel you get by living amongst the water in Lordship, CT. An intimate community with so much to offer, many longtime residents will tell you once you live in Lordship, you will never live anywhere else.

"There’s a town book exchange right at our gazebo, so there is no need to even rent from the local library."

Russian Beach is situated between Short Beach and Long beach. You may hear the locals refer to it as “The Bluffs.” It is not unusual to drive by on a weekend and find weddings taking place. Throughout the summer, events such as Bands on the Bluffs are hosted by the Lordship Fathers Club. What a great way to end your weekend on a Sunday afternoon by joining your neighbors to listen to music for a few hours while enjoying the beautiful views of Long Island Sound.

"You will be amazed how many people you will meet and have the opportunity to talk to while out for a stroll."

The topography in Lordship is usually flat so activities like walking, running and biking are able to be done by all ages. You will be amazed how many people you will meet and have the opportunity to talk to while out for a stroll. A favorite spot for walking is the seawall. Resident and visitors love to visit the seawall to fish in the Sound, visit a restaurant or simple have an ice cream and walk. At Stratford Point in Lordship, you will find one of the oldest lighthouses. Just two years ago, the coast guard opened the tower for annual summer tours. We have been lucky enough to climb to the top and see the magnificent views from Long Island Sound to the Housatonic River. The views are surreal and like none other!
We like to think of Lordship as our “old-fashioned” neighborhood. This is a community where you will find the children outside at play and neighbors socializing in the streets. Your community is considered your family. We couldn’t think of anywhere better to call our home.
