One of my favorite amenities in the town of Fairfield, CT is Lake Mohegan and all it has to offer. There’s hiking, swimming, beach fun, a sprinkler park and playground for the children, and a snack bar and picnic facilities.

The park is open for year-round enjoyment. There are short and long hiking trails offering gorgeous natural scenery and great exercise for both you and your dogs. The long trail goes around the entire lake and takes about an hour to complete. While enjoying your hike around the lake, take time to soak up the beautiful views. Don’t miss the deep stream where dogs can jump in from the rocks above. The terrain levels vary from steep to smooth to rocky with exposed tree roots, so don't go in your flip-flops!
The short trail doesn't go as far into the woods and follows the edge of the lake. It leads to a wonderfully entertaining swimming beach for dogs. Whether you come with a dog or just want to watch the action, you will have a smile on your face while watching an upbeat social dynamic among our four-legged friends!
