A wildly-popular home for NYC commuters, Mamaroneck is just a stone’s throw from more well-known Rye, across the river. The village, 23 miles from Midtown Manhattan, is in a 30-square-mile watershed at the confluence of the Mamaroneck and Sheldrake Rivers. The 45-acre Harbor Island Park, at the base of shop-driven Mamaroneck Avenue, is a big attraction in the village, which has also become a go-to spot for restaurants.
