An Italian freighter sank and washed ashore in Scituate 60 years ago. Unknowingly, this spectacle sparked a chain of events that led the town to its current status as a South Shore mainstay for vacationers and year-round residents. After many drove down from neighboring towns to see the sight, they noticed cheap houses on the beach going fast. Small town feel exploded into Scituate, with townspeople gathering for everything from watching the perfect storm develop off the coast from a cozy pub chair to its annual St. Patrick’s Day parade, of which whomever raises the most money becomes Honorary Mayor of the Year. With lighthouses and old buoys decorating the shorelines, Scituate is truly a Massachusetts masterpiece.

The Escapes

Scituate, MA —
Perfectly Scituated” between Boston and Cape Cod Bay.

Scituate, Ma is a quaint, New England, ocean-side town. A perfect place to live, buy your vacation home or just come for a visit. The charm of the town is paralleled by the mix of its residents and all those that visit. Business, or students alike, the commonality is they are all drawn to the relaxed atmospheres and all it offers. I often joke with my clients I think it’s mandatory to own some type of watercraft, boat, canoe, kayak or paddleboard as they all count. Many boaters from along the coast visit our multiple marinas for the first time and immediately fall in love with our seaside town. We are “Perfectly Scituated” between Boston and Cape Cod Bay.
