In and around Mystic and Groton, CT lies Noank, a tiny fishing village that is much like its big sisters, although more off-the-beaten-path. For those who like that, Noank is perfect for a weekend or summer escape. The community grew from a tradition of fishing, lobstering, and boat-building and has more ship and boat yards than churches. Fun fact: the fishing sailboat type known as the “Noank Smack” is indigenous to this village.
