Lake Boon in Stow & Hudson, Massachusetts

Looking for the joy and serenity of year-round waterfront living just 40 minutes from Boston? Look no further than the hidden suburban gem, Lake Boon. A summer haven in the late 1800’s and early 1900’s, gentrification has created a community of like-minded residents who enjoy boating, swimming, paddleboarding, kayaking, snowmobiling, fishing, cross-country skiing, hockey, and ice skating.

The Lake Boon Association oversees a variety of annual events including the “Lighting of the Lake” evening during the Lake Boon Water Carnival where docks and watercraft are illuminated while a boat with a live band cruises the waterfront. The annual “Decorated Boat Parade” is also a big hit. A crowd pleaser is seeing the Captain and his self-made solar powered 22-foot model "Titanic" cruising. Weekends and holidays provide “Quiet Hours” when kids and dogs, floaters, swimmers, paddleboarders and kayakers can frolic in the lake without worrying about noisy power boats.

One will delight and never tire of the lake's serenity and the peaceful vistas provided by the massive tall pines. It is truly a perfect place to call home. Making friends is easy; dog-owners on their daily walks are happy to stop and have a chat. One can meet residents and learn the lake by participating in the annual 5-mile Lake Boon Walkathon. Historical boat tours are offered by a few of long time Lake Boon residents. Some residents were lucky enough to see a baby moose crossing the waters!
