Warwick, NY —
Winter Holiday on Main
Everyone likes a special place to create winter season memories. Warwick supplies the magic - all that's missing is you!
Washington Slept Here
The town’s history is truly unrivaled. The historic society here went to extreme pains to preserve 9 historic sites that truly will delight the historian in you. Here are some recommended stops. I love it because the quaint bed & breakfasts, local boutiques, fine to casual eateries, coffee shops and weekly farm markets are all integrally back-dropped by Warwick’s rich history. It truly is a testament to our meticulous efforts at preservation as a community. Having served on the historical society, my interest in history is central to my love for what’s here.
A Day in the Country
With an upscale, yet rustic vibe, Warwick has a chic New York style all its own. Nurturing history’s finest preservation, and a flair for artisanal food and farm markets, it’s all about celebrating the simple pleasures in life. There is always a festival or happening--done to the nines. Warwick is a town that anyone can enjoy, with its mix of boutique commerce, historic sites, art and beautiful landscapes lending to an endless litany of outdoor activities. Here, you can revel in a do-nothing weekend, or go for it all. It is the ultimate escape to the country, but when it’s time to go out, it’s got a killer list of entertainments that will get you socializing faster than you can say, “New York.”
Exploring Naples' Waterways
It’s January and the high of the day is 75° (cue “Sunny and 75” by Joe Nichols) and the sky has not one single cloud in it. You’re waking up in Naples, Florida and your day is ready to start. Luckily you’ve already done your research and you have booked yourself a salt water adventure.
Head for the Hills
Could it be that a tiny village only 30 miles from Boston has the best water views on the South Shore?
Marshfield Hills is the hill village that sits above the winding course of the North River. If you enter the Hills from Main Street and wind your way down to where the streets are named for the people who settled there, the views of salt marsh, tidal creeks, river, pond and ocean form a panorama of nature and community that is both rare and beautiful.
North County Bike Trailway
This quiet scape of picturesque lake communities is perfect for the active, contemplative or easygoing lifestyle. Travel through time in the Somers Hamlet Historic District and learn about the Elephant Hotel, which serves as the Town Hall but also, fascinatingly enough plays an important role in the history of the American circus! Resources for recreation are plentiful with your choice of several town parks and the span of the Angle Fly Preserve. Or maybe, you too will find your peace of mind along the North County Trailway.
Upper East Side
When it comes to finding a destination that satisfies a vivid imagination and an adventurous spirit, New York City always delivers. Pay a visit to the Upper East Side for the proof. This neighborhood of Manhattan plays host to diverse geography, vivacious day-to-night life, ample means of transportation and 'Museum Mile,' a 5th avenue landmark featuring a string of marvelous museums. And that's just the beginning. This escape offers endless possibilities that are sure to please its explorers.
